Week 16 March 2015: People On the Move – Asset Management

C Seyi Owodunni has moved to Emerging Capital Partners, the pan-African private equity firm, as managing director of the Nigeria office. Mr Owodunni joins from Kingdom Africa Management, a rival pan-African private equity manager where he was a partner.

C Virginie Maisonneuve, the global head of equities at Pimco, the US asset manager, has been appointed by the CFA Society of the UK as first honorary chair of the CFA UK Women’s Network.

C Vanguard is to reshuffle the leadership team of its international operations with Tom Rampulla, the head of Vanguard’s business in the UK and Europe, returning to the US. Mr Rampulla, who is to take up the role as head of Vanguard’s Financial Advisor Services division, which oversees $1tn in assets, will be replaced in Europe by John James who currently leads Vanguard’s operations in Australia. Mr James will be replaced in Australia by Colin Kelton, currently principal of Vanguard’s retail marketing and communication group in the US.

C Jennifer Murphy is to join Western Asset Management, the $466bn fixed income specialist, as chief operating officer. Ms Murphy was previously the chief administrative officer at Legg Mason, the parent company of Western. Ursula Schliessler will move to the role at Legg Mason’s from her current position as head of global distribution business management.

C UBS Global Asset Management recently hired Dinah Koehler as a strategist in the sustainable equity team. Ms Koehler joined from Deloitte.

C Barclays has hired Jay O’Neil as regional manager for wealth and investment management in Los Angeles from Marcquarie Bank where he served as head of the private bank.

C Steven Newbery is joining Montreux Capital Management as an adviser to its commodity trading fund. Mr Newbery, a geologist and mining entrepreneur, is the founder of the Dubai-based MLI group of companies.

C Rockspring, the €7.9bn property investment manager, has appointed Lionel Nicolas as a director to head up its operations in France. Mr Nicolas joins from Cordea Savills where he was managing director for France, Belgium and the Netherlands.

C Andy O’Regan recently moved to The Pensions Trust, the £6bn workplace pension fund provider, as executive scheme manager from KPMG.

C Coutts, the private banking and wealth management arm of Royal Bank of Scotland, has hired Alison Bishop as a senior wealth manager from Credit Suisse.

C Piotr Chmielowski has joined Fulcrum, the $2bn asset manager as chief risk officer from Lombard Odier Asset Management.

C Guy McGlashan moved in January to London & Capital, the $4.3bn independently owned wealth manager as chief operating officer. He joins from Coutts.

C RBC Investor & Treasury Services, part of Royal Bank of Canada has appointed Andrea Cecchini as managing director in Italy.Mr Cecchini joins from Cariparma, the Italian private bank where he served as head of financial markets.”source ft.com
