Week 23 February 2015: People On the Move – Asset Management

“Stephanie Ouwendijk has moved from Ashmore Group, where she was a fund manager, to join Franklin Templeton Investments as a portfolio manager in its emerging markets debt opportunities team.

Sarah Woolfenden has left Standard Chartered Bank where she managed the Middle East private banking team, to join Plurimi Wealth in London as head of wealth management.

Standard Life Investments has made two hires for its infrastructure debt team. Alex Campbell joins as investment director from Assured Guaranty, where he held a similar position. Marianne Froud comes from Australia and New Zealand Banking Group to become an investment analyst.

Quilter Cheviot has appointed a senior executive director to its charities team. Gemma Woodward was formerly an independent investment adviser to the Royal National Institute of Blind People.

C Serial healthcare entrepreneur Peter Dines has joined Mercia Fund Management as investment director for life sciences. Mr Dines has developed a number of healthcare technology companies and worked with social enterprise investor Bridges Ventures.

JPMorgan Asset Management has appointed Jonathon Griggs as director of applied research for the global fixed income, currencies and commodities group. Mr Griggs rejoins JPMAM after spending just over a year at Rogge Global Partners, where he was a senior portfolio manager. He had spent the previous 14 years at JPMAM.

Benjardin Gärtner has left Deutsche Bank, where he was joint head of the German equities team and a member of the corporate banking and securities management committee for Germany. He will join Union Investment as head of equity fund management later this year.

Russell Investments has hired Alexandre Martin as portfolio manager in its transition management service. Mr Martin joins from Société Générale in Luxembourg, where he was an assistant portfolio manager.

Saffery Champness, which provides fiduciary services to the Swiss wealth management industry, has taken on a team from Schroders. Gordon Matthew comes on board as managing director and brings will him director Francine Wilson and trust administrator Madeleine Deslarzes.

BNP Paribas Investment Partners has hired a team of senior portfolio managers to build a new institutional global equities business. The team, from NewSmith, consists of Simon RobertsJonathan BarnettJames Mann and Stewart Lambert.

Legg Mason is getting into the exchange traded fund game, having hired two senior executives from Vanguard. Rick Genoni was head of global ETF product management at Vanguard, while Brandon Clark was head of Vanguard’s capital markets desk.

CDC, the UK’s development finance institution, has a new regional director for Africa. Imoni Akpofure, who will be based in Lagos, was formerly at the International Finance Corporation, the World Bank’s private sector arm, where she was most recently director for western Europe.”source ft.com
